MTV Roadies is among the first Adventure/Fear based TV reality show in India which not only giving the thrill and excitement of live un-edited action, but also allows the audience to be a part of the show.
MTV Roadies is currently in its eighth season and is the longest running reality show on Indian television and still is very popular with the young generation today, but that’s doesn’t mean the other reality shows will never affect MTV Roadies viewer’s segment.
You will come-up with a new concept and will get the popularity & money both, but for only early couple of years because after two years you will find that there are others as well who are working on the same concept and become you competitors.
It's easy to be on top but it's difficult to sustain and if you want to sustain on top, you have to refresh your marketing strategies time and now, else your concept can backfire and take your brand to the bottom.
The same thing can happen with Roadies as well, because this show started off very well in its initial versions like a truly entertaining adventure style game with genuine unpredictability but now it will become little boring due to presence of similar kind of shows.
There are lots of new reality shows like Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Sarkar Ki Duniya, UTV Bindass Dadagiri and bla bla bla!! who are working on the same concept.

 Every day you will switch-on your television and you will find a new reality show is going to introduce in any channel, especially in channel like [V] and UTV. These types of shows usually capture the viewer’s attention and gradually they will make Roadies name fade from viewer’s mind. MTV Roadies came up with his first show in 2003, and many of us either forgot those episodes or were not seen those episodes. The youngsters who were just started viewing roadies from fourth or fifth season, for them the only option is internet to see previous seasons.
MTV Roadies can utilize this situation by introducing the DVDs for all seasons starting from season one.
It will not only help to encash their identity back in the mind of audience, but the profit as well and that also by selling scrap.

Reasons:

1)      Costing will be negligible, as MTV already have all the previous seasons’ episode.

2)      Ranvijay is an asset for MTV!! His popularity among youngsters is so high today, that not only those who missed the first season, but also those who had watched it earlier would not hesitate to throw 200 bucks for the DVDs.

3)      No other Indian reality show so far came up with this strategy, and if MTV Roadies launch DVDs, they will become the only Adventure based TV reality show to come up with DVD.

Reality TV shows in India is still on a blossoming stage and mostly includes the desi versions of the reality shows broad casted abroad. Despite the copy cat attempt the shows are gaining a lot of popularity in India and if MTV Roadies will come up with this new concept they will definitely create a benchmark for others.
